Login: ____@sd57.bc.ca (where ____ is your school code)
Password: Should be the same as your workflows in CAPS
When you login click on the Circulation button:
You will then be asked to choose a Circulation Profile. Select your school code from the list.
You're now ready to use BlueCloud.
Let's walk through the basic interface:
- This button switches between patron search (Check-in/Check-out) and item search
- The box where you put your patron search (Student ID or Name) or item search (Item ID or name)
- If searching by name and you want to limit it to your library you can select this if you like
- What field is being searched. This is initially set to name, but scanning a student ID barcode will work too
- Go to the Check-In Screen (equivalent to Discharge on Workflows)
- Go back to the main menu (not really used as you do not have access to other parts of BlueCloud)
- Patron Registration and Fast Add Registration are used to create community users
- Patron Information. Note if they have an email address here you can send them a receipt of their checkouts.
- Any items you have checked out. Newly checked out items will have a
- Special Due Date works the same as in Workflows. You can use this to adjust checkout dates for the current item, the current user or until you turn it off. Very useful for signing out textbooks that need to be across both semesters or regular library books for a novel study.
- Email a list of checkouts or selected items to the user
- Print a list of checkouts or selected items to a printer
- Renew selected item(s)
- This is where you scan in barcodes. When you arrive on the page it will be where the cursor is active. If you click somewhere else you may need to click back there to register new items being scanned.
- List of check ins
- Use Bookdrop to modify the day returned. As we do not do late fines this is largely unnecessary for us.
- Email the patron that their book has been checked in successfully. Not really necessary for us, but maybe useful for textbook tracking for high schools.
- Print list of check ins
- This is the box where you scan or type the Item ID. Like with the checkout screen if you click off it you need to make it active again before new check ins will be registered.
- This is the warning icon letting you know there is something you need to be aware of. In this case it is a need to transit this item to the correct library.
This is the item search screen. Items searched through BlueCloud are locked to the library profile you are on, although they will display all libraries that the title is at. From this search we can see there was only one result with a holding at Heather Park when I searched Wind in the Willows and it is currently in the DISCARD user. You can also put a hold on the item from this screen.
