Inquiry is an important part of the teacher-librarian's role. It is done in collaboration with a classroom teacher and their class. Research shows that library skills / inquiry isolated from the wider learning is far less effective than that which dovetails with what is being learned in class.
From BCTLA's Points of Inquiry:
The Points of Inquiry model includes a detailed scope and sequence of student skills that should be developed within Primary, Intermediate, Foundational and Graduation Program age/grade groups. This includes instructional strategies, assessment strategies and tech tools that can support each of the five points of the model.
