Using this page

This page has been designed to allow you to create a mix'n'match kit of Righting Canada's Wrongs series books.

These books are ideal for Social Studies 10 outcomes:

  • residential schools and other discriminatory policies and injustices against First Peoples in BC and Canada
  • discriminatory policies and injustices in Canada and the world, including the head tax, the Komagata Maru incident, racial segregation and the destruction of Hogan’s Alley, and the internment of Japanese-Canadians
  • the Holocaust and the concept of genocide

Social Justice 12 outcomes:

  • social injustices in Canada and the world affecting individuals, groups, and society

Steps:

  1. Select which titles you want and how many. You can have up to 15 copies of each title except the teacher resource guide.

  3. Select a date and click  to see if they're all available. If they're not try another date.
  4. Wait for them to arrive in the school mail.

In the 1960s, after ignoring the Black community’s repeated petitions for basic services, the City of Halifax bulldozed Africville in the name of urban renewal.
