      • popular vs. scholarly

Introduction

Task 1 Instructions

Put the names of everyone at your table at the top of the page on your first lined paper. As a group and without using your phones define the following words:

- Information

- Data

- Facts

- Popular Sources of Information

- Scholarly Sources of Information

- Primary Sources

- Secondary Sources

- Universal Resource Locator (URL)

(10 minutes - ~75 seconds for each definition)

If you don't know come up with a reasonable guess. We will discuss the real definitions after groups share.

Task 2 Instructions

On your second lined paper, turn it horizontal (landscape) and draw a grid with 5 columns (down) and 6 rows (across). In the top row write the following words, one in each column:

Research
