Salvation Army

The Salvation Army’s goal is to help the less fortunate in any which way possible. They have a donation depot where people can drop clothes and other house hold items. They have a thrift store where people can buy clothes and items donated. Please donate to the Salvation Army, it is a good cause and it helps the less fortunate. Help fight homelessness.

On July 12 of 2016 the Prince George Citizen took a survey of homelessness in Prince George. Of the 205 people interviewed, 131 are considered chronically homeless. Out of the 205 interviewed, 19% are in transitional housing, 34% are in emergency shelters, 20% live on the streets, 10% are staying in another’s home, and 3% are temporarily staying in a hotel or a motel. 21% said they were 17 or younger when they first became homeless. 41% have previously been in foster care or group homes. 42.9% of the homeless population in Prince George are female, and 56.1% are male.
