Assignment

Using Career Cruising.com, and Education Planner.ca, and any other websties you might need to research 2 careers that you are interested in pursuing in your future. Your final assignment should be organized in a neat, easy to read format (use headings).

 

Part One: Career

For each of the 2 careers, provide the following:

  • Skills and level of education required
  • Lifestyle factors (part/full time, shift work, etc.)
  • A description of the type of work that will be expected.
  • Expected salary (both starting and top salaries)
  • Employment prospects

Part Two: Education

For each of the 2 careers provide the following:

  • High school courses needed
  • Institution(s) that you want to attend
  • Type of institution (University, College, Technical Institute, etc.)
  • Location of institution (Campus/address/contact information)
  • Length of program
  • Cost of program

Part Three: Bringing it all Together

Using Microsoft Word (or equivalent) create a well written organized paragraph, explaining which of these careers might be the best for you and why. Include examples of the skills and interests that you have learned about in your Personal Profile to back up your decision.

Marks: This assignment will be worth 30 marks.

  • 5 marks for each of the 4 parts. (2 careers for Part One, and education for each of those careers for Part 2)
  • 10 marks for the paragraph.
